I used a paper clip to release the drawer, and removed the ubuntu CD. The CVD drive has worked OK in this HP computer with Windows Vista . And now opens and closes normally. Something in Ubuntu program does not allow the CD to eject.. Ubuntu program worked OK from the CD however. I am not going to use the Ubuntu CD in this computer anyway. I intend to use ubuntu to replace Windows 98 in an older Dell computer.
