Thanks for your bug report,
you can set MOZ_NO_REMOTE=1 in your environment or in a dedicated start
script to achieve this.
Note, this is not supported anymore, because it makes various things
unnecessary hard/confusing, like what profile is used to open mailto:
urls from your desktop environment.
