All recording inputs are automatically muted in Jaunty. I am using a
soundblaster audigy 4 PCI sound card. If the sound properties section in
gnome is used the values are not remembered. Using alsamixer in a
terminal is necessary for the system to keep changes and allow recording
of sounds. Also, certain speakers are auto-muted as well. Examples are:
surround, LFE, center and so on.
