I have never successfully gotten media keys to work for Amarok (by setting them
up in the system -> preferences -> keyboard shortcuts or by going directly
through Amarok with their shortcut menu). I just purchased a new computer (Dell
inspiron 1737) and the media button opens Amarok but play/pause/next/back/stop
buttons do nothing, regardless of if Amarok is focused or if it is running in
the back. The media keys work fine with Rhythmbox.
