Turns out apt-file was barocquen too. Not investigating that any further. As expected, g++ provides usr/share/man/man1/g++.1.gz ... other packages which at a glance look like they might be interested in providing an alternative (aspectc++, gcc-avr, mingw32, manpages-ja [sic]) are not familiar or useful to me, and as such are unlikely to have been installed.
