Sorry : I entirely disagree with your diagnosis :

On the manifestation of the bug FROM TIME TO TIME on my AMD 64 MACHINE with RADEON X300 VIDEO CARD it is exactly the same diagnosis : I CANNOT ACCESS CONSOLE MODE ON BLACK SCREEN. This is the reason I said it is copnfusing simply because the spectrum of occurances on that very same diagnosis is very wide ! I tried a live CD from time to time to fix my system and as far as I know I never experienced the bug though nobody asked me to do so and anyways the live CD is now a different system compared to my installed one with plenty of upgrades. I plan to test Feistry in parallel.
