There is now a new version of blender available in Karmic (2.49a+dfsg-
0ubuntu2). Would you mind checking if this is still a problem with that.
On my computer the icons are available and I have tried `sudo apt-get
remove blender` which removes the icons and `sudo apt-get install
blender` brings them back.
If you still have this problem, could you test with a newly created user
to see if it is a problem with some of your user settings?
