Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: usplash
Everything worked fine after I installed Ubuntu on my Laptop. However,
when I disabled "quiet" using StartUpManager out of curiosity and
enabled it back, the problem occured, i.e. when the "quiet" command is
added to the kernel command line, usplash quits after "Waiting for
resume device", and the first thing I see on the console is "Reading
files necessary to boot". Therefore, the progress bar never runs
through, instead it goes back and forth and then drops to console.
I also tried manually adding quiet by editing menu.lst and running
update-grub, and also temporarily adding quiet in the grub menu. All the
same.
Files are attached.
NOTE: When writing this the first time, I falsely wrote "removed"
instead "added". Sorry. Furthermore, when "quiet" is _removed_ again,
usplash works again, as well. ---> Usplash always quits _with_ quiet,
and works again _without_ it.
** Affects: usplash (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
