HW: Lenovo ThinkPad X200s with 4 GB RAM
SW: Up-to-date Kubuntu Karmic with 2.6.31-10.30 kernel
My system does not have swap space as 4 GB of RAM seems to be more than
enough for my usecase.
I was copying large 2.6 GB file from one ext4 file system to other ext4
file system. Both file systems are local and on LVM volume.
The kernel crashed with the following oops (found in /var/log/messages):
