I ran the update manager and it updated the open office. I tried to save the 
same document again after the update and now the issue is not coming any more. 
if you still require the document, please let me know and I will send it across.

Bug description:
Binary package hint: openoffice.org

While trying to save a document in .doc format, the word processor crashes and 
gives a message of document needs to be recovered.
When the file is opened again, it opens two files - one blank and another 
actual file.
This problem is not there when a new file is created as a doc file.
