Can someone please provide an update on this? News would be useful since the bug has been triaged for some months now and in the meantime a new version of openoffice has came out (3.1.1).
Since the openoffice debs from openoffice.org do not have the bug, it would be useful to know if a) the bug is specific to ubuntu or is general to go-oo (apparently I cannot find bug reports on this from other distros using go-oo) b) ubuntu's oo 3.1.1 has provisionally come out on the PPA with the bug or bug is fixed in the PPA? (I can find no mention on it on the changelog). Also, in case the bug is not fixed, will it be for karmic? Please note that the information in b) is important... to upgrade and downgrade openoffice even via debs is somehow non-trivial to some users and to switch back and forth ubuntu's openoffice and openoffice.org's openoffice is even worse since for some reason the .openoffice dir needs to be reset in the process otherwise subtle errors come out. Also switching back and forth may break the pdfimport plugin (in my experience this tends to happen on 64 bit systems). Because of all these reasons, we should try to avoid unnecessary tests to unexperienced users or users on production machines. For information to those who would like to compare the ubuntu's OO 3.1.x from the PPA to the official one: in case you feel you cannot compare because of the lack of localizations or 64 bit builds on the official openoffice site, here you can find all the possible localized builds and language packs for both 32 and 64 bits in deb format based on the openoffice.org codebase: http://ftp.linux.cz/pub/localization/OpenOffice.org/ -- [ooo-build] OOo text rendering broken in transition from 3.0.1 to 3.1.0 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/384249 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
