Public bug reported:

I attempted to install herd3 and most of the installation was issue
free. when the installation bar was a roughly 90% the window reported
that it was attempting to load a chipset module (aec9xxx or something
similar) and simply hung there for an extended period (~30min) of time
until which i restarted. Since it did not reach the grub portion of the
installer the OS did not boot. edgy installs without a hitch. As stated
in the title this was experienced on a IBM z60t laptop, the pentium 4m
version (rather than a a core duo or core 2 duo).

** Affects: Ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
