Public bug reported:
Hi there,
I have a problem with my DVD, and would be grateful for any help.
When I start Jaunty Jackalope with a media in the DVD drive, it will be
recognized and the icon that representing DVD is shown on the desktop. I
can read it without any problem at all. But when I replace the media
with the another one, the icon disappears, and the device couldn't be
mounted again.
However, whenever I put a media into the drive, it sounds that drive
recognizes the media. The drive is Pioneer DVD-101 and it is tested
under windows xp.
This is part of my /etc/fstab
/dev/scd0 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto,exec,utf8 0 0
I tried
sudo mount -a
nothing is happening
Also tried
sudo mount -t iso9660 /dev/scd0 /media/cdrom0/
mount: no medium found on /dev/sr0
And by using nautilus
Unable to mount location
No media in the drive
Other relevant information
uname -a
Linux Selena 2.6.28-15-generic #49-Ubuntu SMP Tue Aug 18 19:25:34 UTC 2009
x86_64 GNU/Linux
cat /proc/version_signature
Ubuntu 2.6.28-15.49-generic
Could someone please tell me is there any other solution for mounting
the device except restarting the system?
Thanks.

Dvd could be mounted only if media is in the device when rebooting
