In your version of Ubuntu, /usr/bin/screen actually belongs to a package
called "screen-profiles", which provides a wrapper around "screen.real".
They've gotten rid of the wrapper for future versions of Ubuntu.

In the meantime, you should try chmodding /usr/bin/screen.real, instead.

** Package changed: screen (Ubuntu) => screen-profiles (Ubuntu)
