There has never been an error that I can remember and looking at: "sudo
less /var/log/cups/error_log", shows nothing in the file. THe printer
is a HP Officejet 3550. THe jobs are completed and I'm sure Open Office
thinks everything is just fine. As I said, it does feed in the envelope
and you can see it feeds in way too far, then you can hear it print. Of
course it prints on nothing as the envelope already took its trip too
far through the printer. If I put a stadard sheet of paper in place of
the same job, it prints 9 inches down the page, thus confirming why it's
not on the envelope.
With the 9 1/2 inch envelopes(Now on the 9 or 10 inch evvelope print
setting) it feeds in and prints just fine. Except it cuts off the first
two characters(with the default .039" edge spacing) on all the left side
senders address lines. Testing with the same envelope settings but
substituting a standard peice of paper, it still cuts off the first two
characters on every line of the left margin. So it's not the
instability of the printer handling the envelope through its feed.
Thanks for your help and the hard work you do making open source as
professional as it is -and a great choice to Microsofts monopoly. Best
Regards, Mark Buric
