This seems to have been with an old -5 karmic kernel. Could you confirm
whether these issues are still present with the latest 2.6.31-10.32 (or
later) kernel in karmic. This kernel is based on the released version
of v2.6.31 and includes numerous fixes since the kernel which failed.
