Hello

OpenSuse 11.2 exhibits the same symptom of freezing part of the way into 
the LiveCD install/Boot.

The screen is more verbose than Ubuntu and the freeze occurs at "Waiting 
for USB device scan to complete".

I just wonder if the causes could be same for you?

Just an observation in case it helps.
