http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?27373 was related to ?mandrake? based i18n patch (very old, very poor, very buggy, but required for LSB compliance) - it was adapted by various distros. For that one particular bug you could find fix for Fedora at https://www.redhat.com/archives /fedora-extras-commits/2009-September/msg01802.html .
However - this report is imho notabug - as the sort result generally depends on LC_NUMERIC and LC_COLLATE . If you have different sorting order in your locale (in that case you have character 'A' before ' ', and this is probably expected for that locale. This could (but probably won't) be fixed in glibc. This bug report (or similar) is part of coreutils FAQ (http://www.gnu.org/software/coreutils/faq/coreutils-faq.html#Sort-does-not-sort-in-normal-order_0021) and it is recommended to always use LC_ALL=POSIX (or C) for sorting to get generally expected sorting results. -- different sorting in C and it_IT.UTF8 locale https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/422252 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
