Public bug reported: Binary package hint: upstart
I placed this bug report yesterday: Karmic had a major break with recent update. Initially had a frozen GUI (no mouse) with message during update that grub 1.97-beta3 did not install nor did apic. Did a further update later from tty1 - now have following message init: Unable to connect to the system bus: Failed to connect to socket /ver/run/dbus/system_dbus_socket: No such file or directory I think grub is now installed after manually running sudo update-grub2 - not sure about apic. Anyone know what the message means? Google has not been very helpful. Was referred to bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/upstart/+bug/430125 I have done all the further updates that are available and nothing has changed. Either I have a different issue, the local mirror is way behind everyone else or I have missed doing something. I am happy to supply any further information if someone wishes to give me directions as to what log files (or whatever) are needed. ** Affects: upstart (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- karmic still won't boot after teh latest updates https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/431123 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
