** Description changed:

This happens when I choose "Try Ubuntu without any change to your computer".
I have tried both the 32bit and 64bit live CDs, daily builds from 2009-09-16
and alpha5.
For the daily build I have a brown background screen with the mouse cursor
rotating, some white "lines" going up and down and the startup sound starting
and then breaking in the middle along with the screen going blank. This happens
repeatedly until I shut the computer down.
For alpha5 I have the same situation just that there is no sound.
For alpha5 I tried installing, then it manages to start up (I can go back and
forth between pages), until I say Quit and then the above scenario happens
again.

My setup is: Asus M2N Motherboard, AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+,
4GiB Memory and a Harddrive with Ubuntu 9.04 installed (that works) and
other ntfs partitions. I don't have any special cards installed on the
  motherboard.

On another computer I've tried both CDs and they start up without any
problem. The 32 bit Live CD also starts up on the problematic computer
if I ran it virtually with Virtualbox (Ubuntu 9.04's host system).

- Is this the same bug as Bug #428825?
+ I think this is not Bug #428825, because all messages (like Starting
+ GNOME Display Manager) say OK when I switch on console at startup.

+ GNOME Display Manager) say OK when I switch to console at startup (the
+ bug occurs when X comes in after those messages).

** Attachment added: "This is the screen which I see and goes blank in some
seconds (along with the startup voice broken in 2009-09-16 daily build), and
then comes again (looping until I shut the computer down)."
