Yes, a clickable button is missing. Typing "^" does not work, at least not for me. I use the german default keyboard layout and need to press the circumflex button twice to get a single "^" sign printed (that works in all other applications). Pressing this button once, twice or even more in gcalctool does not print any ^ sign so i cannot access this function with my keyboard either which means i have to switch to the scientific view to get a button that i can click with my mouse. Another workaround is to copy a single ^ sign to the clipboard and then paste it into gcalctool using the Ctrl+v shortcut.
