This sounds like the issue that happened when archive.canonical.com
wasn't on the big pipe network that [archive,security].ubuntu.com is on.
This was resolved a while ago - marking as fixed.

I can't download from 'archive.canonical.com|91.189.90.142|:80...' Webbrowser
works perfectly, other repositories too. Should I do something with apt-get?
