I downloaded alpha-6 (which has the same md5sum that 20090917.1 daily build has), and it still occurs. Brown screen, kursor rolling, white line going up (reappearing down, and going up), startup sound, after some seconds: blank screen, and back to the brown screen with rolling cursor, white line and shorter startup sound (and so on).
