Public bug reported:
Karmic Alpha 6 boot error messages-
unknown key 'SYMLINK{unique}' in /lib/udev/rules.d/50-udev-default.rules:3
unknown key 'SYMLINK{unique}' in /lib/udev/rules.d/50-udev-default.rules:4
The lines in question-
3: -- SUBSYSTEM=="block", SYMLINK{unique}+="block/%M:%m"
4: -- SUBSYSTEM!="block", SYMLINK{unique}+="char/%M:%m"
udev[1045] NAME="%k" is superfluous and breaks kernel supplied names, please
remove from
/lib/udev/rules.d/40-ppc.rules:3 :4 :5
I removed NAME="%k" from these lines and the error messages ceased but I
didn't notice any other change.
can not read '/etc/udev/rules.d/z60_hdparm.rules'
This is a reference to a broken link ->../hdparm.rules (the file hdparm.rules
does not exist)
According to the README in /etc/udev/rules.d this directory should not have
SYMLINKS
