Thinkfinger is dead (no upstream activity for 2 years) and has been
removed from Debian, which means that it will probably be removed from
Ubuntu in coming releases. There hasn't really been any maintenance of
the current KDM thinkfinger plugin from the KDE side at all either, and
currently it's pretty broken. For these reasons there's a very low
likelihood of this being fixed. Though as you said, this won't really be
hurting anybody. (and people won't even notice after apport crash
detection is turned off for the final release.)
