Diagnostic mode might "work" but results in waiting through lots of diagnostics on every cold start... so not crazy about that option.
FWIW, I've gone to Linux Mint for a while and I do not have this problem with Mint. I believe the reason has something to do w/the fact that Mint loads a background image behind the grub menu options. But what it has to do w/that I can't imagine. Maybe just slows something down enough to change results. But the prob. is graphics related because the Grub menu is actually there, just not visible. (Try configuring it to wait a good while before going to the default option and you'll see what I mean... it sits exactly as long as it should... with an invisible menu "displayed") -- grub menu does not display after cold boot on Toshiba laptops https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/389930 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
