For 10.04 we're going to try to move over all the root-requiring modules
to the new KAuth system, which eliminates the needs for non-embedded
hacks such as this. In fact KDE is trying to move all of its modules to
the new system for KDE 4.4.
But for now I don't think that we'll pursue improving this hack further.
