Public bug reported:
Using Karmic Alpha 6. After I log in, the ubuntu logo screen shifts to
the top left and I can see my desktop underneath. It stays this way for
about five or six seconds and then disappears leaving my desktop
showing.

Expected result:
My desktop should appear immediately and not be obscured.
