I'm having the same issue, which started after I did an automatic update
in Ubuntu Jaunty 8.04. The wireless card was detected and working fine
until this update. Now the network card doesn't show up in the Gnome
network-manager or ifconfig. Previously it was assigned eth1.

I will try testing with the upstream kernel. I'm not able to test with
the latest development release of Ubuntu at the moment as this is my
