1. I use Hardy Heron 8.04 LTS. 2. When I use $cp somefile /media/commonfat32 it does the operation and updates mtime. 3. When I use $cp -p somefile /media/commonfat32 it does the operation, updates mtime and says "cp: ... Operation not permitted.".
