*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 432866 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/432866
I have performed a short search of the inter-net. The web sites I had
read in the past, that included the description that Canonical's Ubuntu
ONE tool would install software, seemingly can not be found. I was not
checking in March and April (when there was discussion over 'cloud
computing' which I have no interest in, as it is a security problem) but
checked for posts within the last two months, when what I was looking
for, was first seen...
Nothing.
I will state up front... I used a tool, installed by updates, that I
installed some software with, and un-installed other software with. That
tool was called, on my desk top, in the folders, on disk, and when
running... as Ubuntu One. That was not a fiction of my imagination. What
it was, was a dream, for Ubuntu and Linux users.
What is left, seemingly, is cloud computing... Sorry, Ram and Hard
drives are too inexpensive to trust any data 'out there' where the very
able black hats live.
Some may buy the idea of cloud computing. Current political situations
in the world make that personally abhorrent. I like my personal privacy
more than giving it away to the White House or Black Hats.
vince
PS: any time you want to discuss that 'tool' you say 'isn't'... I still
say THAT is a good idea...
