I'm not totally familiar with the inner workings of xsplah, but you'll
probably still see your BIOS loading since the BIOS has to bootstrap the
hardware and hand the system off to grub before xsplash can do anything.
If you want a firmer answer about xsplash specifics, feel free to ask
the xsplash team a question in Launchpad Answers.
