Well, except for the problem noted by Stefan that we aren't guaranteed that rsyslog's syslog user has the same uid/gid as sysklogd's syslog user. This isn't an operational problem (rsyslog will re-chown the files it writes to), but any files that sysklogd owned that rsyslog doesn't care about could be left with an unclaimed uid.
