I am running Karmic, updated from 9.04 yesterday, with online updates up
to a few minutes ago. Since installing this version, wi-fi interfaces
don't work, but Ethernet does. Several wifi interfaces were working well
under 9.04. Karmic was installed online using update manager, not from a
CD.
Here's the basic system information:

I tried to connect with the Gnome network manager applet (version
0.7.996) and while a pci and usb wifi interfaces that are connected were
detected and show on the applet, it says 'device not ready' for both.
I'll attach some files showing pci and usb status. As this is a laptop,
this makes the system difficult to connect except with Ethernet access.
