The fact that theres a downloadable version of ubuntu that I got from a public University that locks out the administraitor and does not allow the password to be changed by the administraitor. Doesnt sound like a bug to you? Genius! William

Status in “ubuntu-docs” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs I installed Ubuntu 9.4 for my Neice, I forgot the administrative password and I got a bad version of Ubuntu as their are graphic 'bugs', I can change or do ANYTHING without that password I have followed EVERY way of resetting the administrative password right down to the manual commands in programming and NOTHING works I even tried to erase the hard drive to install a cleaner version, but the operating system wont let me run or load anything! PLEASE HELP!!, as I did this for my neice and now Im in a big mess! If you give me instructions (hopefully not the recovery kernal commands, Ive tried that a hundred times, and I can get to the password page but then I am told the program does not exsist when I try to do anything) Please dont leave anything out, I honestly believe I have to wipe the drive and start again, and I could use help n doing that as well!
