I got the same error in the update manager while entering the password
(to be more exact while hitting the backspace button to correct my
input). The "password window" then disappeared but the "Update Manager"
window is still opened and disabled!

For me the output of the requested command is different (immediately
after the crash only the lines before "Checking for inactivity" where
printed):

$ sudo aptd --debug
