I got the same error in the update manager while entering the password (to be more exact while hitting the backspace button to correct my input). The "password window" then disappeared but the "Update Manager" window is still opened and disabled!
For me the output of the requested command is different (immediately after the crash only the lines before "Checking for inactivity" where printed): $ sudo aptd --debug 19:17:03 AptDaemon [INFO]: Initializing daemon 19:17:03 AptDaemon [DEBUG]: Setting up worker thread 19:17:03 AptDaemon [DEBUG]: Daemon was initialized 19:17:03 AptDaemon [DEBUG]: Using inactivity check 19:17:03 AptDaemon [DEBUG]: Waiting for calls 19:18:04 AptDaemon [DEBUG]: Checking for inactivity 19:19:04 AptDaemon [DEBUG]: Checking for inactivity 19:20:04 AptDaemon [DEBUG]: Checking for inactivity 19:21:04 AptDaemon [DEBUG]: Checking for inactivity 19:22:04 AptDaemon [DEBUG]: Checking for inactivity 19:22:04 AptDaemon [INFO]: Quiting due to inactivity 19:22:04 AptDaemon [INFO]: Shutdown was requested 19:22:04 AptDaemon [DEBUG]: Quitting main loop... 19:22:04 AptDaemon [DEBUG]: Exit ** Attachment added: "_usr_bin_update-manager.1000.crash" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/32379358/_usr_bin_update-manager.1000.crash -- update-manager crashed with DBusException in call_blocking() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/434748 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
