Using kchmviewer and that document, I got an average CPU usage of 0.7% on a 1.66 gHz speed laptop. That's not bad. When I moved around in the document in zoomed in a lot really fast, it went up more (up to around 2% when moving around, and up to about 7% for a second or so when zooming in and out continuously.
I do not know why your computer takes up so much memory with that book, I do not know why mine doesn't. All I know is that I could not reproduce your result, which is good in a way (the bug is probably not a system- wide problem with kchmviewer) and bad in a way (your system might be screwed up or have trouble reading chm files in 32-bit mode when it's naturally a two-core processor or something... I wouldn't know why...) -- Too much CPU usage by kchmviewer https://launchpad.net/bugs/53776 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
