I just received this exact error: "Failed to open device 'v4l:/dev/video0'': Invalid argument.
I am running Kubuntu 9.04: $ uname -a Linux hostname 2.6.28-14-generic #47-Ubuntu SMP Sat Jul 25 00:28:35 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux $ cat /etc/lsb-release DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=9.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=jaunty DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 9.04" It is fully up to date as of today 24 Sep 2009. My system has a Logitech webcam. I also installed the Brother drivers for a PSC scanner, which worked well on 8.04. I don't need xsane to open the videocam. Unless Canonical can provide a workaround to allow xsane to open and function, this bug should not be closed. -- XSane fails to "open device" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/257533 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
