I have updated the description with my analysis of the problem.

** Summary changed:

- applet needs to be clicked twice to open
+ [Feisty] gnome-main-menu applet needs to be clicked twice to open

** Description changed:

- with current feisty the slab menu doesnt open on first click. it only
- becomes "depressed" on one click. it opens only after the second click.
- thats left click of course.
+ With current feisty the slab menu doesn't open on first left click, it
+ only becomes "depressed", only opening on the second. This happens under
+ Beryl, but is not obvious whether it is a bug in slab (ie wrong window
+ type) or in Beryl's focus stealing prevention (as "normal" panel main
+ menus - such as the Menu Bar - work; and as the menu works fine in
+ Compiz, or when FSP is turned off). However, a temporary fix for those
+ running Beryl is to disable focus stealing prevention, by setting the
+ "general" option to none.
