GDB backtrace for devicekit-power-daemon is attached. The daemon crashes with a SIGPIPE (broken pipe) error.
Could this be because of the negative value for 'Capacity granularity 2' contained in this machine's broken DSDT table in BIOS? Unfortunately, I can't fix this by overriding the DSDT, since the capability to do this in the initramfs is not present in the 2.6.31 kernel used in Karmic. I hope it will be added back. ch...@chris-laptop:~$ cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/* alarm: unsupported present: yes design capacity: 3200 mAh last full capacity: 3360 mAh battery technology: rechargeable design voltage: 7400 mV design capacity warning: 0 mAh design capacity low: 0 mAh capacity granularity 1: 0 mAh capacity granularity 2: -1 mAh model number: 2S1P serial number: battery type: LION OEM info: present: yes capacity state: ok charging state: discharging present rate: 1875 mA remaining capacity: 1563 mAh present voltage: 7341 mV ** Attachment added: "gdb-devicekit-power-daemon.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/32480258/gdb-devicekit-power-daemon.log -- Karmic Alpha 6: battery not detected by devkit-power https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/434771 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
