Under Karmic alpha 6 I do not use the vga= option. Still I do not have
any tty's anymore (showing a blank graphical screen. Guess this is not a
duplicate of the vga=791.

[Karmic] kernel >= 2.6.30-10 with vga=791 tty consoles not accessible and not
showing dmesg.
