thank you cheesy_pizza for responding. i did realize that it was still working in the background so i attempted to wait till the disk was no longer being written to and then just shutdown (basically what you just described haha) im now attempting to download xubuntu for a older laptop of mine, will this happen with xubuntu also because its build on the same base?
