Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.17-11-server
When I upgraded from the Ubuntu kernel 2.6.17-10-server to the newer
2.6.17-11-server, my Alcatel Speedtouch USB modem was not recognised.
I have a script that includes the following line, but the same occurs if
you manually type:-
# pppd call speedtouch
Plugin pppoatm.so loaded.
connect(0.38): Device not found [- or was it "No such device"?]
I can't find a similar bug: this is a new problem. I am currently using
the old kernel, which is fine. The bug is entirely repeatable. I don't
know if it's just the server version, as that is all that I have on this
machine.
Hope this helps. Thanks,
Talat
