Public bug reported:
My desktop has an ethernet port and a wireless card. While installing Kubuntu
on my MacBook, I removed the ethernet cable from my desktop and put it in my
MacBook. I then tried to get the wifi on my desktop to work. It didn't, it
refused to connect, even though I double checked passwords and security
protocols (WPA2 PSK/AES).
When I put the ethernet cable back into my desktop, I got the kerneloops
warning. The first time Apport reported that it couldn't submit the report
because it wasn't about a genuine Ubuntu package. What package was meant
exactly is unclear, because it was mentioned in the title bar of the window,
which couldn't be resize. The word 'linux' was definitely in the name.
I rebooted and the same problem occurred under similar circumstances, although
the report came through this time. I'm new to bug reporting, so please forgive
if I fail to provide adequate information. I'm willing to supply additional
info and to try and recreate the bug if necessary.
I'm running a fully updated Kubuntu Karmic Alpha6.
