This is not resolved yet.
My system:
usblp not loaded -- had to run:
chgrp lp /dev/bus/usb/001/003
chmod 664 /dev/bus/usb/001/003
then it works.

usblp Kernel module needs to be removed and /dev/bus/usb/*/* made accessible
for USB printers to work with CUPS 1.4.x
