I second this.

Three and a half years later, I am STILL getting the uncancelable fsck
on boot.  I have work to do.  sometimes it HAS to work NOW and there is
NO other option.

PLEASE can we make this the default?  You don't have to change the
behavior.  just print a message "to cancel press ctrl-c".  ESPECIALLY on
a server, which can be business critical.
