My bug Bug #439136 was changed to a duplicate of this problem.

"Binary package hint: network-manager

I got this crash when I tried to change eth0 from dhcp to a static ip.
It reverted to dhcp.
Previously the edit button on wired eth0 was grayed out so I hope to change
back to my static ip but without luck.

I have not checked the latest netmanager but the one a couple of days
ago would rewrite the file when I manually tried to write the file that
contains the name servers after I changed manually to a static ip."

I will get updates and retry tomorrow on both my two 9.04 upgraded PC
which both are still using dhcp since I have not succeeded in setting a
static ip address.
