We currently have a very generic keymap for Asus notebooks, so it seems it doesn't work on this particular model (a shame, it works everywhere else). For Toshiba we just have keymaps for the A100 and A110 models.
Can you please exercise the steps at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Hotkeys/Troubleshooting to determine the scan code - key code mapping of your hotkeys, and attach the collected information? Please also make it clear which data belongs to which laptop (put the name into the file names).
