I'm really pretty confused about this report, because the installer's
existing partitioner already does most of this. For example:

  * It shows disk sizes, not cylinder numbers.
  * It includes automatic partitioning facilities, which you can even amend if 
you just want to make a small tweak.
  * It makes it straightforward to create partitions and filesystems on 
multiple disks.
  * It creates filesystems ("formats") as well as just creating the partitions.
  * It certainly doesn't take half an hour!

It really sounds like you're using some weird method that involves
running fdisk by hand or something, because the list of things you're
saying should be present is not a list of things I recognise as being
missing from our current installer's partitioning tool. Could you please
elaborate on exactly what you were doing that you found to be difficult?
