Do you still get this in current karmic? This reminds me a bit of bug
392144.
If you still get it, as a shot into the dark, can you please do
sudo mv /lib/udev/rules.d/70-hid2hci.rules{,.disabled}
sudo update-initramfs -u
reboot, and check if it still happens? If not, please revert with
sudo mv /lib/udev/rules.d/70-hid2hci.rules{.disabled,}
sudo update-initramfs -u
